Summary
Individual who specializes in Microsoft desktop platforms. This individual will maintain company’s desktop hardware and software. Responsibilities will also include training staff on Microsoft Office products and manages instructional materials for user applications. Make recommendations for additions to learning aids and tools. Conducts needs assessments, evaluates assistance currently being offered and develops approaches to enhance company capabilities for user support.
Requirements of the Position
- Troubleshoot hardware and software at the desktop level
- Trains users in learning company-provided applications and assists in problem solving for applications issues
- Tests new software applications and recommends purchase where required
- Coordinates activities in support of user training and assistance requests for all programs
- Confers with users and IT personnel to develop new approaches or alternatives to ensure that user assistance is being provided effectively and efficiently
- Maintains records, logs and reports of assistance
- Assists in developing and writing department’s operational procedures
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent teaming skills
- Experienced in Microsoft platforms at the desktop level
- Associate’s degree and/or a minimum of five years equivalent experience
- Experience training users, on Microsoft platform at the desktop level
- Experience in SQL, Teleform, NDesign, and Adobe a plus
