Objective:
This position has primary responsibility to coordinate and communicate therapeutic area and regional MSA activities among multiple functions and regional sites for globally marketed products and near to marketed products. This position will cultivate undeveloped opportunities of local MSAs by sharing knowledge and making decisions on a global basis, to streamline overlapping services and address gaps to support best practices among MSA functions of multiple sites, and to prevent potential risks caused by lack of sharing of information and continuity among multiple sites for assigned therapeutic areas.
Accountabilities:
- Contribute to strategic direction of GMSA strategy and integration group, under the guidance of Director of GMSA strategy and regional integration.
- Lead, direct and follow through on increasing cross-functionaland cross-regional collaboration among MSA functions of multiple sites, being responsible for his/her therapeutic area and region.
- Lead the GMSA response to important/urgent issues and the development of corporate statements to support them.
- Contribute to the development and execution of an annual program plan and budget consistent with GMSA’ goal.
- Communicate with local MSA functions, clarify their needs, and transfer them to GMSA to support the development and implementation of global initiatives
- Facilitate communication and discussions between local MSA functions and GMSA.
- Convey GMSA decisions to local MSA functions, oversee the implementation of them, and receive feedback. Make changes as necessary.
- Identify and spread best practices in evidence development, training, and education across regional organizations
- Coordinate and integrate global publications, ISRs and international education grants.
- Design and propose post-marketing development plans in clear alignment with a global commercial and development plan across regions, functions and with partner companies.
- Comprehend, track and monitor the use of ISRs globally and leverage the information and results globally.
- Design and execute global publication strategy to support marketing and ensure a publication plan is developed and implemented across regions.
- Design and prepare scientific and medical material (document/publication) for global products
- Globally distribute notable public literature and educational materials
- Manage risks for but not limited to ISRs, publications and urgent corporate statements.
- Strategically design the contents of sponsored international symposia and select attendees. Represent our client at international academic meetings and symposia
- Check and communicate the information to be provided for off-label use.
- Develop and assign global Key Opinion Leaders and set global KOL meetings with Global Product Leaders.
- Pharm, D, MD or Ph. D. in a health sciences related field
- Three years of post-doctoral experience in a Regional Medical & Scientific Affairs role, clinical practice, or publication planning including submission process for publications within the pharmaceutical industry research or academic experience required.
- 3+ years of managing people or coordinating/leading cross-functional teams
- Significant project management experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of therapeutic area (Diabetes/Metabolism)
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical clinical development and product life-cycle management
- Significant experience and knowledge of clinical trial reports, data presentation, and interpretation
- Pharmaceutical or biomedical writing experience
- Experience with peer-reviewed scientific publications
- Requires approximately 20% travel.
- Intercontinental business trips: about 2 times a year.
