Description:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Regional Scientific Manager.
You will perform the following functions in this key role:
- Responsible for oversight of Thought Leader development, within an assigned geographic region, for therapeutic areas of strategic importance. Also responsible for translating those relationships into business and Research and Develop opportunities for the Company, by facilitating clinical and basic science research projects that are aligned with business strategies.
- Identification of local and regional Continuing and other Medical Education opportunities.
- Develop and support of speaker bureau, through speaker identification, and speaker education by addressing clinical and scientific informational needs of speaker bureau members.
- Meet the clinical needs of managed market accounts by provision of clinical presentations and other medical information as requested by these accounts.
- Identify and facilitate investigator initiated clinical and research projects aligned with business strategies, and facilitating investigators’ contractual obligations.
- Assist in identifying, evaluating, and screening qualified research sites for clinical investigation.
- Address questions as requested from physicians, not answered through provision of a medical letter.
- Provision of medical booth coverage at national professional meetings.
- The qualified candidate will be a high caliber PharmD, MD or Ph.D., in a health sciences related field, with a thorough grasp of the Pharmaceutical industry
- Three years or more of post doctoral experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
- Outstanding presentation skills.
- Possess superior communication skills, both oral and written, and able to engender trust and respect of peers, subordinates and superiors.
- Well-versed in highly technical and scientific languages in order to communicate with key Thought Leaders, Medical Affairs, Research and Development, as well as other key internal and external stakeholders.
- Mastery of the phases, processes, and techniques used within a clinical development environment.
- Ability to understand business strategies and oversee the implementation of such strategies
- Proven track record of teamwork, leadership, and success attributes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office application including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to drive to or fly to various meetings/client sites - 40 - 60% overnight.
- R&D and/or teaching experience is highly desirable
- An in depth understanding of pharmaceutical business practices that impact commercialized and development compounds.
