Description:
Primary responsibilities include:
- Copy editing manuscripts for journal supplements, monographs, newsletters, and other scientific publications
- Proofreading layouts of publication materials, including galleys
- Verifying scientific accuracy of publications by data checking information against original source
- Editing and formatting slide presentations
- Proofreading all external correspondence to ensure flawless execution
- Accuracy, attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a high level of planning and organization are critical requirements of the position, as is the ability to multitask.
- A bachelor’s degree in English or a related field is required.
- The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 2 years of professional editing experience, preferably in medical communications.
- Applicants must be team-oriented and able to work well with others.
- Attention to Detail: produces accurate work, even when under pressure; checks the accuracy of information before using it or passing it on to others
- Written Communication Skills: ability to memorize and transition between multiple style guides; constantly adapts to changing medical terminology and CME regulations and requirements
- Organizational Skills: extremely organized and efficient; can respond to rapidly shifting priorities and maintain accuracy across multiple tasks
- Bachelor’s degree in English or related field
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint; EndNote experience a plus
- 2+ years of professional editorial experience
- Technical editing background preferred
- Exceptional written communication skills
