Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Vice President General Manager, identify and develop business opportunities with prospective and existing clients for all services. Create and develop capabilities presentations and proposals for clients using available resources. Responsible for developing long-term client relationships, client project oversight, project team management and revenue forecasting.
Specific Activities, and Responsibilities:
- Business development: Expand opportunities with current clients; identify, create, and develop business opportunities with new companies/products. Write and develop capabilities presentations for new prospects and existing clients
- Product Development: Develop new ideas for strategic marketing, educational, and training and development services customized to individual clients’ budgetary needs and interests
- Financial Management: Work with finance to create contracts for new projects, invoice projects and follow up on payment status. Responsible for revenue forecasting, quarterly revenue totals, and managing project budgets.
- Leadership: Represent the company at client meetings, actively participate in office recruitment and resource development, foster a collaborative and professional work environment
- Team Management: Work with Client Service Manager to ensure the successful implementation of all client programs, supervise multiple project teams
- Client Management: Attend client meetings (i.e. advisory boards, speakers’ bureau meetings, symposia conducted at major associations, etc.), provide project updates. Responsible for providing client reports when necessary. Address and resolve client-related issues.
- Project Management: Ensure client projects are managed to a high standard of excellence, manage client and internal team deadlines
- Education or Equivalent: (Minimum required to perform job)
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
- Proven sales experience, product management or client management experience in the pharmaceutical industry required. Must have knowledge and understanding of current OIG and PhRMA guidelines. Project management skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; working knowledge of the Internet and resourceful thinking abilities. Flexibility to travel to clients and projects.
- Minimum 3-5 years product management of district sales management experience in the pharmaceutical industry, or 2-3 years successful sales experience in Medical Education/Medical Communications
- Must have knowledge and understanding of current OIG and PhRMA guidelines
- Proven project management and organizational skills; flexibility; ability to manage multiple tasks in conjunction with normal job activities
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Position requires travel to service accounts, sell new business, and to attend programs, often over weekends. Account Directors are frequently required to be available outside of regular working hours
- Candidates are compensated for and held responsible for achieving sales forecasts
