Our client offers a unique entrepreneurial working environment with the professional resources to deliver innovative scientific programs with a flare. We are currently seeking talented, experienced medical writers for the Scientific Affairs Department.
Major Function:
Researches, writes, edits, and reviews scientific content to ensure scientific accuracy, relevance for target audiences, and strategic alignment of content to the objectives of the activity and client. Has an understanding and ability to effectively work with in both the promotional and CME accredited educational environments. Supports the strategic positioning of programs and also would have expertise in interacting and negotiating with clinical faculty during the development and onsite management of program content.
Essential Functions:
- Be an enthusiastic, supportive member of the scientific affairs team, dedicated to making our client’s scientific product clinically appropriate and innovatively delivered.
- Provide scientific insight across a broad range of disease areas as designated by growing business and as such embrace knowledge expansion into new science and disease areas.
- Ensure scientific accuracy, clinical relevance, and strategic appropriateness of materials being developed
- Research and write scientific needs assessments and disease state and market backgrounders tailored to educational grants and promotional initiatives
- Demonstrate the appropriate application of adult learning methods in the materials being developed
- Provide research and content development expertise for medical education projects specific to program style and media
- Interact and negotiated effectively with faculty and clients
- Review/edit content to ensure scientific accuracy, relevance to target audience, and that content meets the objectives of the activity and the client
- Provide on-site scientific support for faculty, slide reviews and programs
- Serve as a mentor to other members of the SA and editorial team, and as a scientific expert resource for all colleagues
- Contribute to building the library in the spirit of enhancing our access to scientific resources and innovative educational media
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with in the project team structure to meet or exceed the agreed upon deadlines
- Bring a creative solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving
- Effective communication skills across a wide range of personal styles
- Strong judgment, reasoning and negotiation skills

- Strong ability to earn respect within a team environment and partner with other company asset groups
- Client oriented
- College or advanced degree in a scientific discipline; plus three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in medical research, medical education, pharmaceutical writing, or medical writing. Insight into market and brand positioning of new medicines. Strong computer skills (word, excel, power point, outlook & database programs), and knowledge of AMA style.
