Description:
Our client is seeking a Vice President, Account Director to manage key accounts for our growing client base. This position requires a seasoned interactive marketing expert to provide strategy and management to business and key projects. We are seeking a multi-disciplined individual with experience in prelaunch, launch, and post launch e-marketing and education strategies to provide clients with the strategy and management to fulfill their goals. This role is expected to interface directly with clients and partner agencies for integration projects.
The Account Director is responsible for the overall client service and interactive activities for our pharmaceutical accounts. This position deals primarily with senior management clients and takes a lead role in coordinating, managing and leading agency resources to meet the interactive communications needs of the account. The Account Director in this role also mentors and grows a team of junior account people.
Initiative Management and Execution
- Conducts briefings for internal team outlining specifics of project. Business objectives, client strategy, requirements, budget, schedule, job number
- Provides clear direction to the team on all projects
- Monitors all program execution to ensure team has the proper level of support to deliver on time and on budget
- As required, interface with inter-agency teams to deliver marketing programs across multiple channels
- Maintains and grows strong mid-level client relationships by partnering with client to understand their key marketing objectives for all programs
- Sells-in new project ideas to client that aligns with the business, customer and brand goals
- Manages client expectations, pushing back when necessary
- Supports new business initiatives within your own client
- Understands and owns financials for the client
- Provides leadership to drive passionate team dynamics and excitement
- Identifies opportunities for clients that support their business, brand and customer goals and stays current with evolving trends and capabilities to help do so
- Work with the internal and client teams to develop success metrics to measure programs
- Ensures project stays on strategy by meeting regularly with internal departments to review work. Highlighting key issues to senior management as required
- Oversees project/creative brief development that effectively describe the purpose of the program for creative/technology to concept against
- Provide insight to the team on client industry, therapeutic category and competitive landscape
- Share new ideas with account team.
- Identifies key customer insights and experiences; defines target audience, key segments and opportunities for differential treatment
- Synthesizes program results into high-level results; develops case studies
- Leads brainstorming sessions and strategic discussions
- Ensures written documents and client presentations clearly articulate strategic vision
- Articulates client’s brand attributes and ensures it is incorporated into marketing recommendations and creative
- Defines business objectives of marketing programs and demonstrates and understanding of the economic impact of the program
- Provides guidance across the account and agency team by providing guidance and appropriate level of feedback on a regular basis.
- Establishes and grow relationships across all intra-agency functions
- Assumes other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- 8-10 yrs. relevant experience within an agency account management environment
- Strong experience working with online marketing initiatives, including overseeing back-end creative development and operations
- Pharmaceutical marketing experience needed, mental health experience a plus!
- Professional marketing experience
- Brand strategy development, testing, translation of strategy into creative strategy and execution
- Solid verbal and written communication skills, with seasoned presentation skills at the highest client levels
- Team player and team leader who is results-oriented, proactive and has a strong work ethic
- Some ability to travel
- Ability to lead project teams and interact independently with clients
